Hi! I’m Dan — a family and event photographer based in central North Carolina. I specialize in natural-light portraiture and love capturing the warmth and playfulness of fascinating people spending time with the ones they love. Family portraits, senior portraits, reunions, anniversaries — I love capturing love.

I also photograph special events and particularly enjoy photographing live theatre and other performance arts. There’s something magical about still-framing the energy and emotion — the one take, one shot — of a live performance, and I’m always up for that sort of challenge.

Though I’ve been fully digital for many years, I was first trained in the darkroom, developing film and enlarging prints by hand more than two decades ago. This experience has given me a deep appreciation for the imaginative art, hands-on craft, and rich history of photography.

On a personal note, I’m a certified Southern Appalachian Naturalist (a total bird-nerd), and I have a deep reverence for all things wooded and wild. So, let’s get outdoors and take some great photos!
