Backstage is the best stage!

“Theatre is the lens of a character, you’ll see the world with new eyes.” - Unknown

Backstage is the best stage! It has been a minute but I’m thankful and ready to get back behind the scenes and back to work! New endeavor. New insta profile. New outlook. When I used to shoot film, I’d always say “locked and loaded” before a session like some sort of kitschy Top Gun knock-off. But now that I’m digital and older and wiser… and ooolder… how should it go? “Charged and organized!” 🫤 Meh, doesn’t have the same ring to it. But I’m just as excited to get going!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Cary Players Community Theatre Company’s production of Agatha Christie’s “A Murder is Announced” at the Cary Arts Center in Cary, North Carolina. It was a fun whodunnit with an amazing set, outstanding costumes, and even better folks running the show. I had an absolute blast getting back in the theatre after being away for so long.

I want to give a big shoutout to Mike McGee and Joey DeSena for inviting me to photograph the show. It was an honor to be part of such a talented team. I am absolutely here for the drama (and the costumes).

Finally, I want to congratulate all the talent who make the magic happen behind the scenes. Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring. I’m grateful to have been part of the best-selling production in Cary Players’ history!
