Thank you so much to the Greene family for inviting me to photograph them at their beautiful home. I had an absolute blast getting to capture the big and playful personalities or their little ones. It was low-key but with lots of energy and a dash of tenderness here and there. Who could ask for more?
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a family with two hard-working parents and 4 small children. The parents were so busy with work and life that we decided – out of all the picturesque places in the NC Triangle – the best location for their golden-hour session was their own front yard! It was early fall and the leaves had not started changing colors yet, but the evening sun through the thick green canopy of pine and sweetgum still gave dramatic light. The children were energetic and playful. The interplay of their unique personalities was on full display. We tried to work a little play into the “poses” (that weren’t very posed) and then let the kids run free while mom and dad had their portraits together. It’s so important to give a little extra special attention to mom and dad. We’re always so focused on the kids while the parents are often the ones snapping photos behind the iPhones. I like to give mom and dad their moment together and let them be the center of attention for a change.
I want to thank this family for letting me be part of their lives and capturing these precious moments. It was a joy to work with them and see the love they have for each other.
